The prom program has something for everyone to enjoy and is ideal for a summer evening……We will open with George Gershwin’s Overture Strike up the Band and the audience will be treated to music from England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales plus Khachaturian’s Spartacus Adagio and Leroy Anderson’s Belle of the Ball. No Prom would be complete without the traditional second half – the favourites will all be included; Land of Hope and Glory, Jerusalem, Fantasy on British Sea Songs and of course Rule Britannia!
Picture the scene, a hot summers evening you’re in Hawarden Park by the Castle, sitting in your favourite camp chair with a glass of sparkling wine at your side, along with your picnic (or perhaps you have purchased a marvellous hamper from the award winning Hawarden Estate Farm Shop), or you might have treated yourself to a canapé /drinks reception in the Castle with VIP seats at the front of the Proms. The choice is yours…. building up to a finale of the Last night of the Proms with an opportunity to wave your flags and sing along to all the favourites. Remember this is a once in a life time event.
